At First Congregational Church of Hudson, a huge part of who we are can be seen through our service opportunities. Whether it's our annual interfaith day of service (First Serve), volunteering right here at the church, or serving at a variety of local nonprofit organizations ... we are inspired by the way Jesus responded in love to every person's need. Sue Wimer

Director of Outreach and First Serve

Sue's passion for serving the Northeast Ohio community is infectious! Whether it’s leading First Serve – our church’s annual day of service – or the church’s outreach ministries, she’s dedicated to making an impact on people’s lives. For 16 years, she did just that as a kindergarten teacher in Cleveland and Hudson.  We’re thankful she’s been with us since 2005 – when she started as Director of Stewardship and Development. But, don’t let that title fool you – Sue’s also known to be a decorator extraordinaire and a brilliant special event planner. Sue lives with her husband, Derran, in Akron. Looking for a good place to catch some jazz music? Sue is the person to ask. She also enjoys traveling and hanging out with her two grown sons, daughter-in-law, and adorable dog, Sam.
