HOLIDAY OUTREACH 2024: DONATE
We are collecting 200 large boxes of Jello (any flavor!) for food baskets for OPEN M’s 2024 Christmas Program, For the Love of Children. Please leave donations in the cart in the main hallway.
Each Thanksgiving, the Good Samaritan Hunger Center distributes turkeys and trimmings to approximately 600 Akron families in need.
Make a $25 donation to cover the cost of one turkey.
We are collecting deodorant and hand soap pumps to help our neighbors in need at the Hudson Food Pantry. Please leave donations in the cart in the main hallway.
Purchase gifts for one child or teenager ($50 suggested limit) so we can provide gifts to 90 students at Findley CLC and 25 youth in Students with a Goal (SWAG) this holiday season.
The Angel Tree will be set up in Fellowship Hall in early November.

First Serve will celebrate and show appreciation to the staff at NHS by providing a holiday breakfast the last day before winter vacation.

- Kids clothing sizes 6 to young adult, especially jackets, hoodies, and joggers.
- Men’s jackets, jeans, tee shirts and athletic pants, especially small and medium sizes.
- Men’s casual shoes sizes 6.5 – 10.5.

Please, only clothing/shoes in excellent condition. And please, no swimwear.

HOLIDAY OUTREACH 2024: PARTICIPATE
Join us during coffee hour in Fellowship Hall on November 24 to help wrap gifts for children attending the Haven of Rest Happy Birthday Jesus party. All wrapping supplies will be provided.
Help distribute 600 turkeys and trimmings to Akron families for their annual Turkey and Trimmings Giveaway. The giveaway takes place the Monday before Thanksgiving, from 8:15 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for one or more shifts, which are 1.5 hours each. Email Jenny Wenger for more information on how to get involved.
Help at Home Run for the Homeless, a race to benefit Gennesaret, Inc., the Akron soup kitchen we support through our Outreach Board. Help is needed from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Meet at church.
Healing Arts Mission Executive Director, Connie Skingel, will join us in Fellowship Hall during all coffee hours with information about the needs in Haiti.
FCCH annually supports this mission and we welcome the opportunity to meet and talk with Connie about the work that this organization is doing.
You can also get some holiday shopping done! Connie will have handcrafted snowflake ornaments handmade from oil barrels available to purchase.
Dress in your favorite festive costume and join the 12th annual Selfless Elf 5K run/walk to benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Your $40 registration fee will be used to help provide nourishing food to families in our community. You can also become a VIP Elf by raising $250+ toward the effort. Tutor Students With A Goal (SWAG) at the Reach Opportunity Center at Summit Lake, assist middle school and high school students with their homework.
