Special Outreach Opportunity: Bedding for Refugees

Special Outreach Opportunity

YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND TO GOD’S REQUEST: “to look after orphans and widows in their distress” -James 1: 27

Here’s an opportunity to respond to the most vulnerable amongst us, those who are seeking safe haven in Northeast Ohio, as they try to escape the oppression and destruction in their countries. First Congregational Church of Hudson in partnership with the Trinity Clothing Ministry is assisting The International Institute of Akron to do this locally.

Conversations with the International Institute of Akron and Trinity Clothing Ministry reveal there is a continuing need for bedding for incoming refugees: new twin and full sheet sets, new pillows, and new comforters.

As a request from a Laurel Lake Resident who will be turning 90 early in April, a fund is being established to purchase these needed items.  Rather than give or have a party and receive cards and gifts, she has a hope that people from this church and Laurel Lake will contribute to this fund.

Checks can be made out to FCCH with a designation on the lower left hand corner to:  Bedding for International Institute Fund.
